Citizen TV has ultimately decided to bring down the curtain on popular kids’ show Machachari which aired on the station for 13 long years.

The show revolved around the lives of young children in the slum and how they relate with day to day life activities. The characters however ‘outgrew’ the TV show as years passed by, in recent years viewers had been complaining about the age of Machachari’s characters.

Citizen TV axed Machachari as it was no longer appealing to its target audience. The show used to aired on Citizen TV every Friday at 7:30pm for  the past 13 years.

Machachari has now been replaced by another show Johari. Other Citizen TV shows – Papa Shirandula, Tahidi High and Inspekta Mwala, that are more than a decade old have been rescheduled to air on weekdays at 6:30pm.
