Ciru Muriuki and Charles Ouda got engaged in September 2023 and their wedding was slated for 2024 but it was never to be.

The tragic loss of Charles shattered Ciru’s dreams of a happy matrimony and left her in a state of disbelief and anguish.

In a heartfelt letter addressed to his late fiancé, the 41-year-old media personality poured out her emotions while expressing the pain she was feeling after Charles’ death put an end to her wedding plan as aspirations to be a wife.

“My love, I can scarcely believe that I am writing this. Not in the year that you and I were supposed to become man and wife,” Ciru said.

Ouda took his own life on the night of February 3, 2024, after coming home from a party held by the producers of Maisha Magic’s TV series Salem where he was one of the main actors.

The late actor hanged himself using a belt at the balcony of his apartment in Westlands, Nairobi, after excusing himself to go and smoke.

Homicide detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) interrogated with those who were present when Ouda died and analyzed forensic evidence to determine how the actor died.

The actor was not suffering from any medical condition and neither did he get involved in an accident while at the party where he was last seen alive.

DCI ultimately dropped the investigation having concluded that there was no foul play in Ouda’s death.
