Chinasa Udeala leaves Boomplay music for Safaricom’s Songa

Former regional director for BoomPlay Music Chinasa Udeala has left the company that he helped build to join the new streaming service in the country owned by Safaricom, Songa.

Chinasa Udeala joins Songa as the new General Manager of the streaming service that aims to take over the streaming business that is dominated by Boomplay Music in Africa which has over 5 million installs on Android alone.

“I am very passionate about the Kenyan and African music industry,” Chinasa Udeala said in part expressing his passion in the Kenyan and African music.

“I want to help establish Songa as the leading platform for Local, African and international music in Kenya and on the continent,” he went on.

“I also want to open the platform up to every local artistes so they can upload their music and create an opportunity for them to earn revenue,” Udeala added promising to make Songa the leading music streaming service not only locally but also internationally and regionally.

Oh, lest I forget, Chinasa Udeala is the loving husband to former secular artiste turned gospel artiste Amani who got married secretly.
