Renowned Author and celebrated scholar Professor Ken Walibora is dead!

Celebrated Ken Walibora who is a renowned Swahili Professor and a renowned author is dead.

Reportedly, Ken Walibora who has shaped and set the standards in the education sector in a big way had an accident.

Ken Walibora who was also a renowned Journalist was knocked down by a matatu along Landhies road on Friday. His body was found at Kenyatta National Hospital mortuary.

“I work at Kiswahili Quality Manager and currently live in Nairobi. My interests range from reading to writing. I am also interested in traveling, soccer, and literature.” Ken Walibora subtly introduced himself on social media.

Kenyans together with celebrities online have taken to social media to offer condolences to his family and friends with one Dennis Okari happy to have worked with him at Nation Media Group as well as reading his books in High School.

“I read your set-book in high school and later worked with you at NMG. I will not forget your infectious calmness and good humour. It was an honour. RIP Prof Ken Walibora. Death is cruel.” Dennis Okari shared on Twitter.

“Author and literary giant Dr. Ken Walibora will be fondly remembered for the stories he so vividly brought to life in his books. My heart goes out to his family and his students. May his soul Rest in Peace.” Nairobi Women’s Representative, Hon. Esther Passaris said after learning the death of Ken Walibora.

The Deputy President of Kenya, William Ruto also took his time to mourn the legendary, visionary Author, linguist and celebrated journalist on Twitter.

“We are heartbroken by the passing away of Prof Ken Walibora Waliaula. He was an outstanding academic, ingenious author and a prolific journalist with a charming personality and humour.” Deputy President, William Samoei Ruto said, “Professor Ken Walibora was a man of insight and brevity; he was a driving force with monumental energy and vision when pushing Kiswahili language-related issues. We will miss his great depth of knowledge, positive orientation, wit and resilience.”

“Our thoughts and love goes out to Prof Walibora’s family, friends, the academia and the media fraternity. Rest In Peace.” Ruto added.

Ken Walibora even in death remains the most prolific, gifted Swahili Author in Kenya having written numerous books like Siku Njema, Nasikia Sauti Ya Mama, Kidagaa Kimemwozea.
