Sauti Sol lead singer Bien Aime Barasa, has revealed the reason for setting the entrance fee for their last show together at Ksh20,000.

In an interview with Mungai Eve, Bien said that despite many people who are their fans crying that the entrance is too high and the economy has deteriorated, they also have a reason to charge the Ksh20,000.

“It is true that the economy is bad even for us to be honest, because the cost of everything in the festival has also gone up. You know that when oil prices go up, it affects everything down to the ground. There are many factors that cause us to set the price of the ticket,” said Bien.

Bien, however, asked the fans to please them, asking them to understand that even them they do not want to deceive or defraud them.

“We would ask the fans to please help us. We are not trying to take them for granted but we are also giving them 20 years of our musical life together, if you see us on stage, that ticket is worth 20 years of our being together,” said Bien.

Bien urged fans to buy tickets in bulk saying that the VIP tickets are already sold out

On November 4th, Sauti Sol will perform their final concert together. The band has said that this is not only the end of an era but also the start of a legacy that will live on in the hearts of their fans forever.

The entrance fee for die-hard fans is Ksh 2,500, while a behind-the-scenes access to the same event will set you back Ksh 6,500.

The VIP show will take place two days before the fans show, on November 2nd, 2023, and will cost Ksh 20,000.

The Ksh 20,000 package includes a 5-star banquet style dinner, complimentary welcome drinks, intimate performance by Sauti Sol, exclusive Sauti Sol merchandise pack, Sauti Sol meet and greet.

In a statement in May, Sauti Sol announced that it will be taking a break from group projects.

“While the indefinite hiatus marks the end of a specific chapter, it also represents a new beginning for Sauti Sol. As close friends and business partners, the band members, Bien-Aime Baraza, Willis Chimano, Polycarp Otieno, and Savara Mudigi, are eager to explore fresh creative avenues and embark on personal endeavours.”
