Babu Tale’s late wife Shamsa Kombo died suddenly in June 2020, the cause of her untimely death is yet to be made public to date.
News about Shamsa’s death was broken on social media by members of Diamond’s family who condoled with Babu Tale’s family.
Tale recently spoke on his wife’s death during an interview with Salama Jabir, opening up about her last words to him.

Diamond’s manager revealed that his wife begged him not to remarry moments before she died. She told him to raise their four children on his own.
“Mke wangu aliniambia nisioe, nakumbuka hiyo siku nimeshinda naye Muhimbili, akaniambia ‘nimechoka kuishi hii hali, akanishika mkono kuniambia mimi naondoka, lea watoto lakini usioe, usioe, usioe,’,” said Babu Tale.
Babu Tale also reminisced about seducing his wife, he said that he pursued Shamsa for a whole year before she gave into his romantic advances.
“Marehemu mke wangu tulifahamiana Magomeni kota kwa sababu na yeye alikuwa anaishi pale, nilimtongoza mwaka mzima hajanikubali. Enzi hizo nilikuwa mtu flani rafu halafu yeye ana mambo ya kizungu.”
