Photos of Rescue Activities At the Collapsed Buildings In Huruma

Rescue operations have taken shape at the scene in Huruma where residential building collapsed Friday evening.

Rain and large number of crowds at the place are making rescue operations hard.

Red Cross team is on the ground, dozens have been rescued so far and are taking shelter at a nearby chief’s camp. Unconfirmed reports allege that the owner could have constructed the building on sand filled sacks.

It has taken longer for cranes to lift up stone and metal debris to arrive at the scene of the accident but that hasn’t deterred rescue operations to continue. Kenyans on the ground, have come together to help the people of Huruma. No politician had arrived hours later after the incident was reported and people are asking them not to find a political angle on this scenario like they always do to every other that comes by.

Dozens have reportedly suffered injuries, some rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital and Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital, 3 have lost their lives as a result.
