MP Benard Shinali’s baby mama sues for 200k monthly upkeep

Ikolomani MP Benard Masaka Shinali might be soon forced to pay a whopping Ksh 200,000 monthly upkeep if his baby mama has her way in court.

Caroline Mutheu Mwakodi sued the lawmaker sometimes in 2019 demanding upkeep money for their 5-year-old son.

The plaintiff is seeking Ksh 200,000 monthly upkeep for her son, she broke down the figure as; 50,000 rent, 35,000 medical insurance cover, 15,000 house help, 35,000 food, 40,000 for clothing, and 35,000 for entertainment.

The Ikolomani MP denied fathering Caroline’s son when the matter was listed for trial in March 2020. DNA paternity test however proved Shinali is the child’s biological father.

“Based on the DNA profiles generated from the samples presented to the Government Laboratory, there are 99.99% more chances that Bernard Masaka Shinali is the biological father of Caroline Mutheu’s child,” said Pamela Khamala Okelo, the Government Analyst in her report dated April 7, 2020.

The case was once again mentioned at Milimani Children’s Court on March 1st, 2021.

Magistrate Georgina Opakasi ordered the two parties to file their final evidence in the suit.

The Magistrate ordered the MP and his baby mama to file written submissions before March 9th when the case will be heard.
