Sheila Kwamboka, the former Ms. Tourism Kenya 2006 has opened up about what a lot of celebrities and famous people in the country usually go through in silence for years.

The beautiful former Big Brother Africa contestant who is now a Vybz Radio presenter disclosed that after the show she didn’t have money. A lot of people believed otherwise.

Kwamboka didn’t know Big Brother Africa came with unprecedented fame where she could easily be recognized anywhere and everywhere.

“The first time I went to Big Brother I found myself in a show and I didn’t know people were skimming, I was just there having a good time.” Sheila Kwamboka said, “When I left, I didn’t expect the windfall of fame, everywhere I go was Kwambox! Kwambox! Kwambox!”

Kwamboka thought that she was only famous in Kenya, so she moved briefly to Uganda but even there, she was recognizable.

She was actually very famous but sadly, she was broke.

“But I was broke, the worst you can be is to be famous with no money. I could not hide, I went to Uganda and still, I could not hide,” she added.

Sheila Kwamboka went on to share her experience with two women who knew her immediately after seeing her waiting for a matatu at the Commercial stage and talked all about her despite her being right there with them.

Kwamboka, later on, told her mother who encouraged her to become the woman she is today.

“It was so bad, so, I got a job, one day when I was waiting for a matatu in commercial-stage, two chicks were talking about me, the whole time I was listening and they just looked at me,” she said.

Kwamboka who is rather tall having that American-height in check apparently doesn’t like matatus because she’s tall and they are uncomfortable for her.

“It really shaped my character, I got home and told my mom, she encouraged and it got me where I am today. I don’t like matatu’s because I am tall and most time I don’t fit.”

This is actually the very first time Kwamboka publicly opened up about being broke and famous and comfortably talking about her past struggles after the Big Brother Africa show that she was a part of a couple of years ago.
