McDonald Mariga faces hurdles among Jubilee party’s rank moments after he was handed ticket to vie for Kibra by-election

Three prominent Jubilee politicians – Moses Kuria, Maina Kamanda and Joshua Kutuny vowed to support ODM candidate moments after McDonald Mariga was given Jubilee ticket on a silver platter.

The three politicians claim that Mariga is William Ruto’s project and that the DP had a hand in the decision that saw the retired footballer given Jubilee party’s ticket to vie for Kibra by-election.

Kuria, Kamanda and Kutuny said that they expected the party to subject all the 16 candidates through a vigorous democratic process before settling on the best candidate.

“… @WilliamsRuto let the young man be. He will live to join this silly, dirty game of politics another day” Moses Kuria via Twitter told William Ruto in part.

The Gatundu South MP called out Ruto for using Mariga, he said that the DP should allow the retired footballer to focus on matter football instead of politics.

“Let Macdonald Mariga spend time to grow our football and our talents. Siasa itakuwepo leo, kesho na mtondogoo. @WilliamsRuto let the young man be. He will live to join this silly, dirty game of politics another day,” Moses Kuria tweeted.

Other disgruntled candidates who were seeking Jubilee party ticket to vie for Kibra by-election have appealed the decision of the board to hand Mariga the party ticket saying it was done in secrecy and contrary to party rules.
