Police arrested Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang and Steve Mbogo as they made their way to Kamkunji grounds in Kibera for Nasa rally on Thursday.
Nasa had planned to hold a grand rehearsal at the historic Kamkunji grounds on Thursday ahead of Raila Odinga’s arrival on Friday.
Organizers of the grand welcome had invited supporters to the rally at the Kamkunji grounds but police rushed to arrest Nasa politicians and made sure they didn’t address their supporters.
Siaya senator James Orengo with former Machakos senator Johnstone Muthama however devised a clever way to address Nasarites.
The two Nasa bigwigs talked to their supporters via a phone from undisclosed location. They urged Nasarites to turn up in large numbers to welcome Nasa leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka at JKIA.
