Photos capture the moment police fired teargas canister straight at Boniface Mwangi’s chest in close range

Rights Activist Boniface Mwangi led protests at Uhuru Park on Thursday October 19th. Boniface’s protests followed a report by Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch highlighting 33 deaths caused by police in Nairobi alone.

The peaceful demo at Uhuru Park were interrupted by police incursion on the protestors. Boniface and his Team Courage protesters were teargassed and beaten senseless by the police.

The Rights Activist suffered a burn mark on his chest after anti-riot police officer lobbed a tear-gas canister straight at him in close range.
