“the Catholic church was right” Raila finally backs church on controversial tetanus vaccine causing sterility in women

Raila Odinga press conference

Nasa has issued a statement on the controversial tetanus vaccine that the Catholic church opposed on grounds that it caused sterility in women.

The church raised the alarm sometimes in January 2015 when Health Ministry started a program for mass administration of the tetanus vaccine.

The January 14th 2015 statement signed by all of the bishops followed a report that one-third of the vials of the tetanus vaccine tested contained a hormone linked to birth control.

The government rejected the results, citing poor methodology. The Ministry of Health said it tested 10 vials and found them to be free of the hormone.

Raila Odinga has today September 11th issued a statement supporting the Catholic church’s stand on the controversial tetanus vaccine.

Raila said that the Catholic church was right in opposing the vaccine which has allegedly caused infertility in women between 14 and 49 years old.
