Ugly incident during Chelsea/ Leicester game proves Blues has the most racist fans

Chelsea was swift to issue a statement condemning Saturday incident of racism by a section of Blues fans during the match against Leicester.

Chelsea beat Leicester 2-1 away at King Power Stadium in a match that has since attracted global attention thanks to anti-Semitic Alvaro Morata chant from Blues fans.

For starters, anti-Semitism is hostility, prejudice or discrimination against Jews people. In celebration of Morata’s display, sections of Chelsea’s supporters at the King Power Stadium were heard to sing: “Alvaro, oh, Alvaro, oh. He came from Real Madrid, he hates the f****** Yids.”

The word ‘Yid’ is a derogatory term used to describe people of the Jewish faith. It has also been used to describe supporters of Chelsea’s rivals Tottenham Hotspur, due to the perception that the north London club has a large Jewish following.

The sheer display of racism at King Power Stadium is not an isolated incident, sometimes in April videos appeared on social media of some Chelsea supporters singing anti-Semitic songs before their FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham.

Chelsea’s fans also pushed a black commuter off a Metro train in Paris in February 2015 before a Champions League tie against Paris St Germain.
