She has become the head honcho for a Swahili soap opera to be aired on DSTV. The soap opera that she will executive produce will be called MAZA and will be aired on Maisha Magic East. If fate smiles on this show we might well have our own Kenyan Shonda Rhimes.

The show will be set in Mombasa and will involve themes like, betrayal, jealousy, envy, wealth. That is part for the course for a soap but the strange aspect to this one is that it will involve the supernatural. I wager that a black cat will turn into a witch with Nigerian style special effects and the noise to back it. Now that’s a soap opera with a twist.

Considering the success she has had so far, her excellent command of the Swahili language (does that even matter?) , this show might well be the next big local show on Kenyan screens. And if it isn’t at least she tried.
