Yesterday Stella Mwangi was a guest in a TV show ’10 over 10’ by Citizen television where she was asked about her music career and how she started doing music. Stella Mwangi who dropped her moniker ‘STL’ to sound more African went on ahead to say that she battled one of the renowned rap acts in the world, Xzibit while she was only 14 years old.
C’mon Stella Mwangi, why are you lying?
I don’t know if you guys know about this rapper called Xzibit, I don’t know. Sasa nilikuwa na-battle nay yeye when I was 14-years-old. I stepped up to him and told him let us battle. So, I have been doing this for a while, it’s a matter of growing up and getting to know yourself better,” she said.
Well, thanks to social media, Xzibit thwarted the claims of ever working with Stella Mwangi let alone battle her in rap. I guess she is only trying to get into the good graces of rap and she deserves the attention of having the honor of battling one of the best lyricist rapper and at the time she is referring to, Xzibit was the hottest act in rap, so I wonder how she met him in the first place.

In music, especially hip hop and rap, one has to be authentic and true and what Stella Mwangi did right there am afraid might be a career suicide but let’s wait and sees, maybe it’s a blessing in disguise and maybe she can finally work with the rap star who was an actor in the rap series ‘Empire’
