Akothee has sparked a social media frenzy after publicly recounting a dramatic fall-out with one of her workers, Brayan — a saga involving garden tools, missing mobile money, and an unexpected burst of laughter that pushed her patience over the edge.
In a candid and characteristically fiery post shared on Tuesday December 2, 2025, the self-made millionaire revealed how a simple request for gardening equipment spiralled into a showdown over honesty.
According to Akothee, Brayan had been pestering her for funds to buy tools, prompting her to send him Ksh2,000 on Sunday. But instead of getting to work, he spent the next two days insisting the cash had mysteriously vanished.
“He kept calling the whole day saying he hadn’t received the money,” she wrote, adding that on Monday the young man again pressed her for more funds — claiming he still couldn’t proceed with his duties.

By Tuesday morning, the excuses escalated. Brayan allegedly told her he could not clean the compound because he had only received Ksh400 instead of the full amount. Suspicious, Akothee launched her own mini-investigation.
Together, they inspected his phone transactions and discovered the Ksh400 was simply the cash he had withdrawn from an agent. Still, Brayan vehemently denied receiving the Ksh2,000 — “with all his teeth,” as the singer put it.
When Akothee threatened to call Safaricom for verification, he boldly told her to go ahead. And she did.
The telecom operator confirmed the full amount had indeed been deposited. Cornered, Brayan reportedly burst into laughter — a moment Akothee describes as the final straw.
“Then he started laughing saying, ‘Mama nguonna… dhano ema koso,’” she wrote, expressing utter disbelief.
What followed was swift and unambiguous.
“Guess what. Brayan is going home. I don’t entertain dishonesty. I can laugh with you today but switch into something you don’t know. That’s how empaths operate,” she warned.
With her trademark blend of humour and bluntness, Akothee concluded her post by wishing the 25-year-old — whom she cheekily referred to as “my Gen Z, son of the soil” — all the best as he “goes to drink himself to death in his mother’s compound.”
The post has since gone viral, with fans divided between amusement, sympathy, and sheer astonishment — all agreeing on one thing: when it comes to Akothee, a lie is the quickest route to unemployment.
