Wahu Kagwi has sensationally revealed the deep emotional scars left by a series of “soul-crushing” back-to-back miscarriages that preceded the birth of her third daughter, Shiru.
In a tear-jerking reflection shared on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, the 45-year-old star confessed that she was “spiritually and emotionally drained” before the “miracle” pregnancy that changed her life in her mid-40s.
Wahu, who has been married to fellow music legend Nameless for over 20 years, admitted that the road to their third child was paved with “unbearable” grief.

After welcoming daughters Tumiso in 2006 and Nyakio in 2013, the couple had long desired to expand their family.
However, the years that followed were marked by “silent delivery rooms” and the recurring trauma of pregnancy loss—a battle the couple largely kept away from the public eye.
“The best thing that’s happened to me in my 40s. God really knew I needed her,” Wahu wrote alongside a heart-melting photo of her youngest, Shiru.
The singer hinted at the “transformative” nature of the arrival, suggesting that Shiru wasn’t just a new addition, but a “healing force” for a mother who had almost given up on the dream of holding another newborn.
When Shiru finally arrived on October 11, 2022, the atmosphere was one of pure, unfiltered relief.
Nameless recalled the “earthly connection” he felt just five minutes after her birth, naming her after his eldest sister in accordance with traditional Kikuyu customs.

For Wahu, the journey has been a masterclass in patience and faith. Embracing motherhood again nearly a decade after her second child, she has become a beacon of hope for women struggling with fertility and “advanced maternal age” taboos.
“God truly knows exactly what we need,” she noted, reflecting on the joy that has filled her home since the “miracle” birth.
The couple, who famously tied the knot on the shores of Lake Naivasha in 2005, have managed to maintain one of the most stable marriages in the spotlight.
But it is this latest chapter—one of “loss, longing, and ultimate redemption”—that Wahu says is the most meaningful of her life.
As she soaks in every moment with little Shiru, the singer is proving that while the “back-to-back” losses were devastating, the “miracle” at the end of the tunnel was worth every tear.
