It was supposed to be the moment that finally brought a decades-long mystery to a close—but instead, it has sparked a sensational row involving allegations of bribery, “underhand tactics,” and a flight to South Africa.

Music star Bahati, 33, has been forced to defend his integrity after the woman who claimed to be his long-lost biological mother suffered an emotional meltdown on camera, accusing the singer of using “money” to rig their DNA results.

Judith Makokha, who has spent weeks insisting she surrendered a child years ago who grew up to be the award-winning artist, was left “emotionally destroyed” on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, when medical results from a local facility returned a 0% match.

The high-stakes meeting turned into a scene of pure chaos as the results were read out by Medical Doctor David Mwithiga.

Rather than accepting the scientific conclusion, a sobbing Makokha stormed out of the room, alleging that the Ksh10,400 test had been compromised by the singer’s wealth.

“Hii kitu imechezwa! (This thing has been altered),” she screamed amid uncontrollable sobs.

“Tumieni tu pesa… Kuna kitu iliniambia kuna kitu inaendelea (Just use your money… something told me there was something going on).”

A visibly shaken Bahati was seen attempting to comfort the woman, eventually convincing her to return to her seat as he sought “divine intervention” for her peace of mind.

In a bid to prove his innocence and silence the “clout-chasing” allegations that have dogged the saga, Bahati has now made an extraordinary offer: he will fly Makokha to South Africa for a second, independent analysis.

“If you want, I can take you to South Africa or any other hospital of your choice,” the Mama hitmaker declared. “We can follow up elsewhere… to the hospital you want.”

Bahati also vowed to help the woman trace the exact location where she claims to have surrendered her child, promising to stand by her until the “real” truth is uncovered.

While the emotional turmoil on display appeared raw, not everyone is convinced. Renowned music producer Wuod Fibi is among the skeptics who have slammed the ordeal as a scripted drama intended to boost Bahati’s digital numbers.

“It’s simply chasing clout,” Fibi remarked, noting that he correctly predicted the DNA test would show no relationship between the pair.

As Judith Makokha eventually stated she would leave her hopes “in the hands of God,” the singer took to social media to ask for prayers: “God is our Comforter, May He stand with our mum, give her peace of mind, and settle all her grievances. Mungu ingilia kati. 🙏”

Whether the pair actually boards a flight to Johannesburg or if this remains a digital soap opera remains to be seen.
