Is it a miracle reunion or a masterpiece of marketing?
That is the question gripping the Kenyan entertainment industry as Kevin Bahati—popularly known as the “King of Kiki”—awaits the most significant scientific result of his life.
In a candid Instagram update on Thursday, February 19, 2026, the singer confirmed that he has submitted his DNA to be tested against Judith Makokha, the woman who insists she is the mother he believed was dead.
Responding to a wave of online ridicule, Bahati insisted that the stakes are emotional, not commercial.
He revealed that he had originally ignored Makokha’s claims back in December 2025 but felt compelled to act after being accused of “looking down” on a potential relative.
“I have already done the DNA test, and the doctor told us to wait 14 days for the results,” Bahati said, visibly weary of the speculation.

“I do not want the jokes from people saying that this whole thing is clout chasing… this is a very sensitive matter.”
However, not everyone is buying the “vulnerable orphan” narrative.
Veteran producer Wuod Fibi waded into the debate on Wednesday, delivering a scathing verdict on Facebook.
Fibi alleged that the entire “Mama Drama” is a sophisticated script designed to drive traffic and fulfill an advertising contract for the medical facility involved.
“Bahati is such a brilliant content creator. All that drama just to advertise a hospital. The result will come out as NEGATIVE,” Fibi claimed.

The results, due in roughly two weeks, could fundamentally rewrite Bahati’s “orphan to superstar” brand.
If the test is positive, it raises haunting questions about the woman the singer believed he buried as a child. If it is negative, it will cement his reputation as a master manipulator of public emotion.
While his wife, Diana Marua, has remained uncharacteristically silent on the matter, the rest of the country is in a state of high anticipation.
For Bahati, the next 14 days will determine if he has found a mother—or if he has just successfully completed another “season” of his real-life reality show.
