Mugithi artiste Lawrence Njuguna aka DJ Fatxo has rebranded himself as a gospel singer after Jeff Mwathi’s death which nearly ruined his career.
DJ Fatxo was acquitted of the murder of Mwathi who died mysteriously in his Kasarani apartment.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in April 2023 forwarded to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP)’s office for action the file on the investigations into Jeff Mwathi’s death.
According to the DCI report, Mwathi’s death still remains inconclusive with possible suicide suggested as the strongest explanation for how he met his death.
DPP acting on the DCI’s file failed to charge DJ Fatxo and ordered an inquest into Jeff’s death.
Fatxo decided to give his career a new lease of life as he dropped a gospel song after his woes.
In the new song dubbed ‘Ngatho’, DJ Fatxo gives thanks to God following his tribulations that arose after the death of Jeff Mwathi.
He also appreciates his fans for standing with him during the trying times.
