‘Baby Don’t Go’ hit maker Kunguru dies after long battle with illness

Veteran Kenyan musician Eric Onguru, popularly by his stage name Kunguru, breathed his last on Sunday March 19, 2023, at 2:00 pm.

Kunguru had been receiving treatment in the hospital for the past weeks prior to his death.

The musician’s death was confirmed by his management as well as fellow veteran musicians like Gidi Gidi who mourned his passing on social media.

”RiP my friend Kunguru,” Gidi Gidi wrote.

The late musician had been unwell for quite sometime.  He has been in and out of hospitals for the last couple of years albeit without making public what he was suffering from.

The cause of Kunguru’s untimely demise is yet to be made public as well.

Kunguru came into the limelight in the early 2000s and was among Ogopa Deejays most successful musicians.

The deceased singer was among the few talents that were retained by Ogopa Deejays when they terminated the contracts of most of their signees back then.

Kunguru is well remembered for his all time hit ‘Baby Don’t Go’, a collabo with Mr. Lenny.
