Tanzanian artist Bahati Bukuku struggled to have children in her marriage for years. Her husband eventually lost patience and kicked her out.
Bukuku narrated her painful struggle with infertility while speaking during an interview with Upendo Media.
The gospel singer revealed that she used to get pregnant but suffered miscarriages which resulted in the loss of her unborn babies.
Bukuku laments that her marriage hit rock bottom because her husband got advice from other people following her continued miscarriages.
“I used to get pregnant and get miscarriages. That is when my marriage started getting cracks because he would get different opinions from people. That is what led to my divorce. My marriage was also broken by outsiders’ advice,” she said.
The celebrated gospel singer further revealed that she composed some of her most successful songs while going through the most trying moment in her life occasioned by miscarriages and pressure from her husband.
“I passed through such a hard time. No one loves stress but the devil knows that for peace not to exist there must be challenges.”
Bukuku revealed that her ex husband was the ideal spouse she dreamt of having when they met and started dating. She further disclosed that he offered to sponsor her music videos as he saw something in her that other people couldn’t.
“He sponsored my videos. I never lacked money not even once, at the time I was naïve I would go for shows and not get paid. I would call him to come pick me up at the airport.”
