Ken Okoth’s illegitimate wife Anne Thumbi has moved to court to block the late Kibra MP’s burial or cremation until her set of conditions are met.
Thumbi, a nominated MCA in Nairobi county, through her lawyer Elkana Mogaka has successfully been granted a temporary court injunction to stop Okoth’s interment plans.
Thumbi and the late Kibra MP have a son together. Below is a list of conditions she wants before the deceased can be laid to rest:
1. DNA test
The Nairobi MCA wants Ken Okoth’s body to be preserved until DNA samples have been collected in the presence of licensed pathologists appointed by both parties to determine her son’s paternity.
2. Lump sum payment
Thumbi wants a court order issued against the estate of the late Kibra MP requesting for an immediate lump sum payment of her son’s school fees.
3. Acknowledgement
Thumbi wants her five-year-old to be recognized as Ken Okoth’s biological son by the family of the deceased. She demands that her son be included in inheriting the deceased’s estate.
4. Inclusion
Thumbi further demands that her son be included in all burial arrangements, rituals and traditions relating to the final sendoff of his father by the virtue of being Ken Okoth’s only biological son.
5. Body seized
Thumbi also wants the court to bar Lee Funeral Home or any other morgue from releasing Ken Okoth’s body until the case is heard and determined.
