Betty Kyallo is under pressure to close her restaurant in Karen, the Summer House.

Over the weekend, an operation was conducted to check on the order’s compliance by police and the county government of Nairobi authorities.

The team said, however, that it had discovered some clubs had disobeyed the governor’s order and that their licenses had been revoked.

Mr. Sakaja warned nightclubs playing near residential areas to turn down the volume at 10 o’clock on Friday before banning them altogether finally; causing havoc among business owners in Nairobi.

Nightclubs like 1824, Club 909, CK Club, X Millionaires Club, Oyster Bay, Edu’s Bar, Pitstop Grill, and Claret Lounge had their licenses withdrawn.

The Summer House, a restaurant owned by media star Betty Kyallo, has been criticized by Karen residents of Nairobi for being overly noisy.

1. Location: Forest Edge Road, Opposite Bomas Of Kenya.

2. Amenities: It has beautiful grounds for events and lots of family fun.

3. Sports lovers: You can pop in and watch football or Grand Prix

4. The Summer House is normally open for lunch, dinner and evening hang out.

5. Owner is reported widely as Betty Kyallo

6. It has been operational officially for the last two to three months.

7. Karen Langata District Association alleges that there was no public notification about The Summer House development published in a daily newspaper.

8. Also, according to KLDA, neither the county administration nor the National Environmental Management Authority has changed the use of the site from residential to commercial.

9. Nixon Korir, a former Lang’ata MP, Victor Wanyama, and MacDonald Mariga were present for the launch.

10. Through Kiarie, Joshua & Co Advocates, Lang’ata Forest Edge Residents Organization (Lafera), an affiliate member of the Karen Lang’ata residents’ association, filed a complaint last month alleging that the restaurant does not adhere to the zoning policy’s desired aesthetic value for the neighborhood.
