Diamond Platnumz’s Wasafi has seen a number of artistes quit over the past few years with musicians like Rich Mavoko, Harmonize and Rayvanny leaving.
Rich Mavoko, Harmonize and Rayvanny were locked in a fierce tussle with Wasafi when they demanded to leave the label before their contracts expired.
The singers were forced to pay hefty fines to buy out the remainder of their contracts. They were bound by the terms and conditions of the contracts they signed.
The trio was forced to pay millions of shillings to buy the remainder of their contracts when they quit Wasafi before their contracts expired.
Wasafi slapped Harmonize and Rich Mavoko with a Tsh500 million/Ksh23 million fine while Rayvanny was required to pay a whopping Tsh1 billion/Ksh50 million.
Zuchu likewise is bound by her contract to stay in Wasafi. If she wants to leave, just like Mavoko, Harmonize and Rayvanny, she will have to pay millions to buy out the reminder of her contract.
Diamond Platnumz recently spoke on the exit clause on Zuchu’s contract revealing that she will have to pay Wasafi a whopping Tsh10 billion/Ksh511 million to quit the label.
The Wasafi boss spoke about the Ksh511 million fee on Zuchu’s exit clause while responding to a fan on social media.
“@diamondplatnumz @officialzuchu akitaka kutoka atadaiwa bilioni mbili maana saiv ni msanii mkubwa baada ya bigy (Diamond right now if Zuchu wants to quit Wasafi she will pay Tsh2 billion because she is now the most successful artiste after you),” a fan commented.
Diamond replied;
“@qwixa_azz aah huyo si chini ya 10 billion si unaona manamba yake huko mjini Youtube Baba (Zuchu can’t pay less than Tsh10 billion, can you see the numbers she is pulling on YouTube?)”.
Apart from the hefty fine she is required to pay Wasafi for her to leave the label, Zuchu is also romantically involved with Diamond.
Zuchu will not leave Wasafi anytime soon as long as she is in love with Diamond. The two, though they publicly deny dating, continue showing public display of affection (PDA).
The sultry singer feels she is part and parcel of Wasafi because her man owns the label, surely she can’t quit WCB since she ‘owns’ majority stake courtesy of the man she is dating.
