Willy Paul is arguably one of the most successful solo artiste to ever come from Kenya and he has been representing not only the country but he keeps on spreading his wings to other country scooping loyal fans while at it and his latest hit record with Nandy dubbed ‘Hallelujah’ might have played a major role in helping him become a household name across east African region.
It’s no lie that Willy Paul has the potential of becoming even bigger than he is today and for him to achieve that he needs dedicated, serious and professional people in his corner and that’s why he reached out to the veteran comedian, MC and radio host, Jalang’o to become his official MC for his already confirmed 29 gigs across the globe.
Jalang’o asked by Willy Paul to meet him to talk some business for quite some time, he didn’t make it when Willy Paul asked the first time due to his busy schedule. As his schedule cleared, Jalang’o arranged to meet up with Willy Paul who gave him 400,00 Kenyan shillings just to agree to meet up with him as he offered him the opportunity to become his official MC for his gigs.
“… Before I speak Pozee pushes 400k Kenya shillings my way in cash telling me that’s for accepting to meet me…” Jalang’o on how Willy Paul surprised him on the meeting.
“So the other day I received a call from Kenya’s No 1 artist @willy.paul.msafi telling me he wanted to see me urgently..I asked Pozee WhatsApp!! He told me he urgently needed to see me! Ok ! He asked me when are you free? I told him I am never free I Make time? So he asked me when I can I make time !! To sound busy I told him next week on Thursday! That’s today…so pozee called me today asking me if our meeting is on..I told him yes we are on ..I asked him where we are meeting, Sankara rooftop private lounge..Pozee unajua huko? Hehehe…so I make my way to sankara…I meet pozee with 7 pumped guys..his security and a few boys and four very beautiful ladies..So I ask him..Mwana mkunaji how can I help you? Before I speak Pozee pushes 400k Kenya shillings my way in cash telling me that’s for accepting to meet me..OK….” Jalang’o shared in part.
Jalang’o like any sane person would, was shocked by the 400,000 shillings Willy Paul pushed his way just for agreeing to meeting up with him.
Apparently Willy Paul travels heavy with his own entourage of 14 dancers, Personal assistant who doubles up as his photographer, his designer and his MC who intends to make Jalang’o fill that post. Willy Paul is also booked in different countries and wants Jalang’o to be there.
“So pozee tells me he wants me to be his official Mc…Apparently he has like 29 Gigs line up and he is heavily booked in the whole continent.. he has a gig in South Africa, Nigeria, 4 in Tz , 7 In Uganda and several in Kenya…busy schedule and apparently he has said he travels with his PA Photographer , 14 Dancers, His Mc and his designer…wee..” Jalang’o continued.
Just to show how serious he was, Willy Paul tore a blank cheque and handed it over to Jalang’o and asked him to write down the figures that he will be comfortable working with as his personal MC.
“I tell him am ok with it but since I am a busy person he has to tell me the dates…He asked me how much I will charge him..I told him Heavy j baba is not cheap..he cuts a page from his cheque book and tells me to write my cost….This boy has arrived!! Boss Pozee I am at your service!!” Jalang’o added.
Though he has not disclosed how much they have agreed upon but what we are certainly sure of is that Jalang’o is the official MC of WIlly Paul and he confirmed it on the same post that he shared yesterday on social media,
