In the journey of life, growth is not just about acquiring new skills and experiences, but also about evolving emotionally and mentally.

Corazon Kwamboka, a prominent figure known for her candidness and authenticity, shares a valuable lesson she learned in the past year that revolves around self-value and setting boundaries.

She opened up about the fear of offending others even if it’s detrimental to her own person.

She subtly touched on always putting herself first, taking care of herself, and cutting off some of her friends if necessary and she isn’t offering any apologies about it either.

Corazon was rather direct in her short social media posts, she opened up about some stuff that most of us usually go through in silence just to make the other person feel safe, secure, welcomed, and appreciated even if it’s to our own detriment.

“One lesson I’ve learned in the past year is to value myself and set boundaries. I used to be scared to hurt or offend people so instead I’d choose to stay silent and pretend.

I ended up only hurting myself. This year, you will be called out accordingly and you will be cut off if necessary,” Corazon Kwamboka shared on social media.

The Fear of Offending: A Silent Struggle

Many of us can relate to Corazon’s confession of being hesitant to express our thoughts and feelings out of fear of hurting or offending others.

We often choose silence over confrontation, believing that avoiding conflict is the best route to maintaining harmonious relationships. However, Corazon’s experience highlights that this approach can inadvertently lead to personal suffering.

The Silent Cost of Pretending

Pretending to agree, pretending to be fine, pretending to conform – these behaviors can lead to a profound internal conflict.

By suppressing our true selves, we slowly erode our self-esteem and self-worth. Corazon Kwamboka’s revelation serves as a reminder that the toll of this self-inflicted pain can be severe.

The Epiphany of Self-Value

Corazon’s personal journey of self-discovery led her to a pivotal realization: valuing oneself is not just a luxury but a necessity.

The idea of preserving one’s authenticity, even if it means having difficult conversations, is crucial for maintaining emotional well-being.

Acknowledging that your thoughts and feelings matter fosters a sense of empowerment that is essential for a fulfilling life.

Setting Boundaries: The Ultimate Act of Self-Care

In her reflection, Corazon Kwamboka emphasizes the significance of setting boundaries.

Boundaries act as protective barriers that shield us from emotional harm. They communicate our limits and expectations to others, ensuring that our relationships are built on mutual respect and consideration.

The Courage to Be Called Out

Corazon’s wisdom extends to recognizing that in embracing self-value and boundaries, you may encounter moments where you are “called out accordingly.”

While this might initially seem daunting, it’s a testament to your authenticity. Being open to constructive criticism helps us grow and evolve, contributing to our overall development.

Embracing Necessary Endings

The quote ends on a powerful note: “This year, you will be cut off if necessary.” As we learn to honor our self-worth and establish boundaries, we also need to be prepared to let go of relationships that are toxic or detrimental.

Ending such connections, though challenging, is an act of self-preservation and a step towards a more positive and enriching life.

Corazon Kwamboka’s candid insight reminds us that self-value and setting boundaries are essential aspects of personal growth and well-being.

As we navigate the intricacies of human interactions, it’s crucial to prioritize our emotional health by embracing our authenticity and establishing limits when needed.

So, let us learn from Corazon’s lesson and embark on a journey toward self-discovery, self-love, and a life enriched by healthy relationships but then again, what do I know!
