The talented Sauti Sol singer and songwriter who has one the beautiful deep voices you’ve ever heard and the softest voices ever(yup! he got two beautiful voices) Willis Austin Chimano has finally confirmed once and for all that he’s a member of the LGBTQI member.

Chimano who recently released his solo debut hit song dubbed ‘Friday Feeling’ promised that he will stop hiding and start living his truth without fear of anything whatsoever.

Chimano wants his fans to accept him as he is noting that his hit song is a true representation of himself and who he is as a person, a person that he’s so proud of so much so that he cannot change or live a lie any longer.

“It is the first time I am expressing myself in a song. You really get to know who Chimano is and that is a heavy crown to carry. It is just a representation of the underground ballroom culture within the queer community… which I am part of,” he said in part.

Chimano broke the internet as we know it a couple of months ago after it was hinted that he was a member of the LGBTQI community. He has confirmed the claims and allegations to be true as he proudly declares himself as a member of the LGBTQI community. Photo credit: Instagram/iamchimano

On the reason/s why he decided to publicly come out recently, he noted that it’s not right for anyone to be defined by his and/or her sexual orientation and preferences whatsoever. He is of the belief that anyone ought to be free to live their happy life the way he and/or she chooses to without any fear of discrimination from anyone.

“So, I am just laying everything bare; from now on, hakuna kujificha jificha (there is no more hiding). Sexuality does not define you. It is just about me putting myself out there, my creativity, and living my truth. Figure out what your own happiness is most importantly with yourself. Gather your own life,” he continued.

The super talented artiste who confessed that age is catching up with him stressed the importance of always living your truth and finding happiness in whatever makes you happy regardless of what other people will say about you.

“As I get older, I have a bigger perspective of life and who I am supposed to be. It is not about what everybody else thinks I should be,” the ‘Friday Feeling’ hitmaker said.

Chimano coming out publicly comes a few months after former BBC journalist Njeri Makena came out publicly telling the whole world that she’s a member of the LGBTQI community which was supported by most netizens among them other established persons and celebrities at large.
