William Ruto says he will continue serving as the Deputy President of Kenya

President Uhuru Kenyatta yesterday caught the attention of the entire nation after he called upon the resignation of his Deputy, Dr. William Samoei Arap Ruto, and members of parliament allied to him.

Deputy President William Ruto was today in Gachie, Kihara and Wangige Markets, Ngaremara, Isiolo North, Isiolo County and interacted with residents of Isiolo town.

The second-most powerful man in the country, Deputy President William Ruto during a rally in Isiolo County made it clear to the entire nation that it’s only President Uhuru Kenyatta who has all the powers in the Jubilee government.

He reiterated that the President is the sole decision-maker in the Jubilee administration.

Responding to the statements made by the President yesterday, the Deputy President said he’s not about to leave his job anytime soon.

William Ruto said that he has never gone against the decisions of President Uhuru Kenyatta because he respects him very much and because he knows that President Uhuru Kenyatta is the only person who makes all the decisions in the government.

“You know I’m a respectful person, don’t you? President Uhuru and I sought the votes together and that’s how we formed the Jubilee government and I’ve always respected the President because he is the one who makes all the decisions in this government and I have never gone against his decisions because I respect him.” William Ruto said in part.

The Deputy President who has been touring the entire county confessed that he remained to be a respectful, dedicated person to the President and loyal to the party and the government despite his duties being given to someone else to execute them.

“Even when the President gave away some of my duties to be executed by someone else, I still respected his decision because I want unity.

There’s no competition between me and the President, I am doing the job he has given me to do,” he stated.

The Deputy President went for the opposition jugular claiming that history will never remember them kindly.

He made it clear to everybody who was in doubt that he’s here to stay as the Deputy President of Kenya because that is his place in the constitution and the people elected him to serve them to the best of his abilities.

“I’d to tell the members of the Opposition who joined us in government that they should either sit and cooperate with us or leave. You can’t claim to be part of us and criticize us.

For the avoidance of doubt, let me say that there is no contest between me and the President… I will continue to work as the Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya because that is my place in the Constitution,” he added.
