Jada Pinkett has disclosed that slain rapper Tupac was her soulmate after revealing that her marriage to Will Smith ended in 2016 but they kept the breakup a secret until October 2023.

After revealing that Will Smith and her have been living completely separate lives since 2016, Pinkett talked to RollingOut about her friendship with the late rapper Tupac Shakur.

Pinkett was asked about Tupac, who died after being gunned down in 1996, being her soulmate. She agreed and discussed their strong connection.

“If there is such a thing as past lives, I definitely think that Pac and I have traveled a few together,” she said of Shakur, whom she became friends with as a teen when they were both living in Baltimore, Maryland.

Pinkett however noted that any type of romantic connection wasn’t possible because there was no chemistry between them.

“It’s that friendship love chemistry,” she said.

“It was almost like God made us that way. It was like, look, I’m going to put y’all together, right? Y’all are going to be a dynamic duo. But I’m going to tell you right now, I’m going to make it so y’all are not going to be able to get together ‘cause that just wasn’t the purpose,” she added.

Pinkett spoke on Will Smith and her going their separate ways during an interview with NBC News.

The 52-year-old actress and her 55-year-old husband have been married since 1997. Pinkett Smith said they are not legally divorced.

Their marriage has come under scrutiny during the period she says they have been apart.
