Why Kenyans Lost to Nigerians at The Tecno Own the Stage Grand Finale

Tecno, one of the leading mobile phone brand, has been running a karaoke competition tion which saw talented karaoke singers across the continent battle it out for a prize pool of $25,000 & opportunity to record a song as well as going on a tour with a renowned musical act.
The competition that has been running for the last three months saw 15 contestants drawn from Kenya, Nigeria and Tanzania battle out to take home $25,000. The number has been reducing each week with one or two leaving the competition through judges’ elimination method.
The competition came to the grand finale on Sunday where 4 contestants; Pascal & Sikin from Kenya, Shaapira from Nigeria and Nandy from Tanzania battle it out for the top spot.
Nigerians Shaapira emerged the winner home with the competition’s grand prize of $25,000 at the end of Sunday’s Grand Finale in Lagos. In addition, she also earned for herself a recording deal as well as a brand new TECNO Phantom 5 phone.
In second place was the Tanzanian, Nandy, who went home with $15,000, a three-month internship programme at the internationally acclaimed Chocolate City, and a Tecno Phantom 5 Smartphone, while Pascal, from Kenya, finished in third place and earned for himself $10,000 and a Tecno Phantom 5 Smartphone.
Sikin, who was the other Kenyan that made it into Sunday’s Grand Finale, placed fourth at the end of the show.

Well, Kenyans lost because, generally we are vocal online but we never vote. Anyway congratulations to everyone who participated and the overall winners.
