ICYMI, Victoria Kimani’s ‘Spirit Animal’ studio album gets considered by Grammy

Victoria Kimani outdid herself on her latest studio offering ‘Spirit Animal’, she most definitely has one of the best music albums of 2021 by far and that’s a fact, you have to listen and/or stream the studio album to know this to be true.

The talented singer/songwriter and vocalist also has some amazing features on her album from Priddy Ugly, H_art the Band, Bella Alubo, Peruzzi, Yemi Alade, Bella Shmurda, BitterSoul, Lady Du, and KiDi.

Here 16-track studio album is so good that it has been considered for a Grammy nomination for the ‘Best Global Music Album’ by the voting members of the Recording Academy.

This will be unprecedented, in Kenya at least which will make Victoria Kimani the very first solo artiste to get her/his/their studio albums nominated for a Grammy.

Kimani who went back to her Afropop roots on her fourth studio album ‘Spirit Animal’ took to social media to express her excitement for the wonderful news to her global fanbase.

“My collaborators and I worked SO hard creating these pure Afropop vibes 🦓To the Voting members of the Recording Academy. Thank you for considering my 4th Album SPIRIT ANIMAL!! 💫#foryourgrammyconsideration #BestGlobalMusicAlbum 🦓🇰🇪,” she shared on social media.

South African lethal lyricist rapper Priddy Ugly who is also featured on the studio album on track #13 dubbed ‘Diamonds’ was also impressed by the good news that Victoria Kimani shared with her fans online and had some positive things to say about the ‘Spirit Animal’ getting a nod from the Recording Academy.

“Congratulations to Victoria Kimani 👑 on her Grammy Consideration for her new album Spirit Animal & bless up to the Recording Academy for recognizing,” he wrote on social media clearly happy for Victoria Kimani for having acquired that major win in her career.

This is Victoria Kimani’s very first studio album to have been considered for a Grammy nomination for the ‘Best Global Music Album’ that Burna Boy recently won in favor of his timeless, powerful ‘Twice As Tall’ studio album.

Entire Africa is eagerly waiting to see if Victoria Kimani will bring the studio album back home making not only Africa proud again but also her home country, Kenya.
