This mismanagement of artistes by petty, not-so-professional promoters in Kenya hullabaloo needs to stop now! it’s about time it does.

To what end will artistes both local, regionally, and internationally continue to suffer at the hands of these greedy,  petty promoters who continue to tarnish Kenya’s showbiz name by not paying what they agreed with the artistes.

Now, the latest unfortunate victim to fall prey to this promoter’s greediness is our very own Victoria Kimani who was set to perform yesterday at Club Cubano with various artistes dubbed Victoria Kimani & Friends.

The artistes who were set to perform alongside the Chocolate City talented singer was Gabu, King Kaka, Frasha, Kristoff, Yvonne Darq with DJ Creme dela Creme on the decks and Jamal and Shaffie Weru being the hosts for the concert.

“Cubano refused to pay me, stopped picking up calls the rest of them performed to my fans after using my name to sell tickets… Not one of them reached out to see what was going on… ” Victoria Kimani said in dismay.

When we asked her what might be the reason why Cubano treated her so ruthlessly, she had this to say,

“I can’t think of any reason besides fraudulent malicious and jealous behavior,” Victoria Kimani quipped

“I’m sort of used to dealing with these types of issues here at home, so I’m not totally shocked. It’s good these things are documented so we know how to grow from here,”  Victoria Kimani went on to add.

The question that I believe is on everyone’s mind right now is why would Club Cubano hype a performance that they couldn’t afford or keep their word on?

We understand that other artistes performed for a sold-out arena thanks to the usage of Victoria Kimani’s name and imagery which she wasn’t compensated on.

Cubano hasn’t released an official statement about their alleged misunderstanding between them and Victoria Kimani.
