Victor Wanyama has decided to spend a fortune to spur sports development in his former hood of Muthurwa. The footballer has bought a bus for Muthurwa clubs.

Wanyama has bought a 40-seater bus for Country Bus FC and Muthurwa Boxing Club. The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder parted with millions of shillings to purchase the bus in London through the Victor Wanyama Foundation.

For starters, Wanyama was born and raised in Muthurwa where he draws the tag ‘Lion of Muthurwa’. He sharpened his football skills while playing for Country Bus FC.

Wanyama decided to give back to the football club that nurtured his talent by buying them a bus to facilitate their movements while playing against other sides.

The 40-seater bus will be shared with Muthurwa Boxing Club, which is also known for producing good boxers but has not received support from the government.

The bus underwent clearance at the port of Mombasa on Friday November 29th and is expected to arrive in Nairobi on Saturday where it will be branded.
