President Uhuru Kenyatta has made the creatives in the country very happy by the directive that he gave officially on the national presser a few hours ago.

Uhuru Kenyatta gave a directive for his government to pay artistes, actors and musician Kshs. 100 million so that they continue to entertain Kenyans during the pandemic period.

“I direct the Ministry of Sports, Culture, and Heritage to avail Ksh. 100M from the sports Fund to our artistes, actors and musicians during the period of the COVID-19 pandemic,” President Uhuru Kenyatta said, “so they may continue to entertain their fellow brothers and sisters through TV, radio and the internet.”

President Uhuru Kenyatta also said that the government has banned the movement by road, rail or air in and out in and out of the Nairobi metropolitan area with effect from Monday, April 6, 2020.

President Kenyatta, addressing the nation at State House, said the move is aimed at combating the spread of the coronavirus to other parts of the country since 82% of Kenya’s reported cases have been recorded in Nairobi.

He also banned three counties on the Coastal strip – Kilifi, Kwale and Mombasa – where an additional 14% of the country’s cases have been recorded.
