Born in 1983 in Kenya, in what was then the provincial headquarter of former Nyanza Province, Kisumu, Esther Akoth or Akothee is a popular figure among the Kenyan youth, especially those who spend most of their time online. Akothee, also commonly known as Madam Boss is a singer, songwriter, actor, philanthropist and above all a mother with lots of fortune. Here are the top 6 things you should know about Akothee.

1. Akothee’s Net Worth

A survey done in the calendar year 2017-2018 estimates Akothee’s fortune at around Ksh 6.2 billion. This includes assets in Kenya that are estimated to be worth around Ksh 1.0 billion.

The rest are in the form of investments in other countries. She owns Akothee Safaris (a travel & tour company) and Morning Star Diani Establishment. She has also invested heavily in music.

It is rumored that she owns her own music production and labeling studio at her Rongo Spa home, and a video production atelier in downtown Nairobi. Akothee’s net worth is partly due to her blooming music career that has seen her do a number of collaborations with international celebrities such as Nigeria’s Flavour N’abania and Tanzania’s Diamond.

Akothee has also featured in a number of best-selling videos as the main actress and at times just as a dramatis personae. Some of these videos generate millions to Akothee’s bank accounts when users download or view them on video sharing networks.

2. Akothee’s Marital Status

Akothee, a mother of five is single but is often seen dating. At times she dates guys who are much younger than herself. She has divorced at least two of her former husbands. In 2018, it was rumored that Akothee was dating Nelly Oaks, her young but highly attractive manager. This was after numerous photos of the two cuddling and holding each other in a compromised position appeared online. It is not clear who leaked the photos online but some sources believe that it was Akothee who did it with an intention of hurting her former husbands.

Only time will tell whether the two were actually in love and intended to build a future together. Akothee’s online posts are full of comments from young men looking to win her heart. Most are jokers but some go to an extent of in-boxing Akothee giving out their personal contacts. There is also a bunch of these young men who show that they are ready to offer Akothee love in exchange for financial incentives.

What most of them do not realize is that Akothee is not some cheap cougar looking for young things to spoil. It is widely believed that the only way to winning Akothee’s heart is by becoming as prosperous as her. That’s how one will be able to lay out arguments and counter-arguments on proposing possible future matrimonial union with the Madam Boss herself.

3. Singing Career and Awards

Akothee has released a lot of hits including singles and collaborations that have won her international acclaim. Over the years, she has seen a lot of competition coming from Uganda’s Leyla Kayondo, Tanzania’s Vanessa Mdee and her Kenyan counterpart Victoria Kimani. Despite all that, Akothee still stands out as the one leading the pack of female artists in the East African region, partly due to her philanthropic nature and unending financial muscles.

4. Philanthropy and Humanity

Regardless of all the talk in town of how arrogant and dominating Akothee is, she has a kind heart and that’s all it takes to have your support grow in the public eye. This has been demonstrated in the number of innumerable tours she made to Baringo and Turkana Counties in order to raise funds and awareness of the dire famine that had hit the area earlier on in 2019. Akothee donated foodstuff and blankets to the hunger victims before setting up a crowd funding account to help bring more funds to the aid of those affected by the famine in the region.

These well-calculated moves have earned Akothee some online accolades with some of her fans now claiming that she is more famous than the president of the republic himself. Some fans are urging Akothee to vie for a political seat either as the Women Representative in Nairobi or as the Governor of the populous city due to her strong philanthropic views and a humanitarian heart.

5. Akothee’s Children

Being a stout alpha female, some may argue that it is difficult for any man to live with Akothee. However, it should be noted that despite her highly-dominating nature, Akothee has been able to raise 5 kids over the years with little or no assistance at all from the men she once dated.

She has three beautiful daughters and two well-looking boys. Akothee’s firstborn daughter Vesha Shalian Okello, was born when Akothee was a teenager who barely knew what life was all about. The daughter is a product of Akothee’s first marriage which she says was overly abusive and full of pain.

Her second-born died while an infant. Her third-born daughter, Celine Dion Okello, aka Celly or Rue Baby is a local celebrity with lots of fans following her on social media platforms. Akothee’s third-born daughter, Prudence Apundo was born in 2000. She has two more half-white kids Prince Oyoo and Prince Ojwang from her second marriage to a European tycoon.

It is also important to point out that Akothee does not shy away from social media and she’s often seen posting pictures while showering her kids with gifts, or moving around in Ferraris. At times she posts photos of her extended family including the housemaids, who at one time were heard bragging that they are paid Ksh65, 000 as monthly salary.
