Shiko Femi One who nowadays is simply known as Femi One has revolutionalized the Kenyan rap game with her rap prowess and the ease to deliver on her verses and spit dope bars whenever given the chance to jump on a beat. Like they say though, not everything come easy and someone has to start from somewhere and sure enough the ‘Brikicho’ rapper has sure had a fair share of struggle before she gained the stardom status she’s currently enjoying.

A few years back, way before she went to WAPI and spit some verses, before she was introduced to us by Rabbit King Kaka on his ‘Ligi Soo Remix’ track, before she went on ahead to release ‘Maumbile’ (which was and still is a successful track she ever did) she was once in a secondary school called Gakarara which is located in Murang’a that she once did a rap verse over it on her single ‘Wanjiku Kimani’ where she rapped;

“All grown up nikaingia seco gakarara.”

“All grown up nikaingia seco gakarara.” This is the Gakarara I talk about in Wanjiku Kimani. This was when my mum came for my first visiting at Gakarara. #TBT #murangahukondani #mbalinimbalisana

I love everybody who loves everybody, somebody got to love somebody at some point.
Music is something that comes natural to everybody and it's a language that everybody can understand, I understand it and that's why I speak it
fluently, do you.
