Mike Sonko came out to absolve himself from blame after Carol Radull visited retired boxer Conjestina Achieng and reported that her life is slowly deteriorating.

The sports personality said that Conjestina has been back to her rural home in Siaya for the past two months.

Radull raised concerns over Congestina’s situation, expressing fear that her mental health could deteriorate to previous condition.

Following Radull’s report, a section of Kenyans criticized Mike Sonko claiming his assistance to Conjestina was only for PR purposes.

However, the former Nairobi governor strongly denied reports he has only been extending help for Conjestina for publicity.

Sonko explained that everything he did to help the boxer was watered down by her family.

“I have seen a post by my good friend Carol Radul on Conjee, which attracted both positive and negative reactions from the public. Others were criticising and accusing me of playing PR and vipindiree.

“I hereby wish to respond with facts as hereunder: Kenyans, I did my best to help Conjee, but her family watered down my efforts. Fortunately, my heart is bigger than myself. At times, I fail to control it for the love I have for the people, especially the less fortunate, and I think this is the reason I initially gave Conjee the first, second, and now may be I will be forced to give a third and final chance again coz I’m always serious with all the cases we undertake and since we always document and account for the progress of all our sensitive cases The first 5:24 mins recording obtained from a mobile phone provider’s server was on 2nd October 2023 at 15:54 pm between myself and Conjee’s son Charlton, who’s my very good buddy whom I respect a lot.

“The second 21:25 mins audio was downloaded from a mobile’s phone provider server on 18th December 2023 at 11:26 a.m. Listen carefully to the audio clips and be the judges,” Sonko wrote.
