Smallz Lethal has been in the music industry long enough for his two cents on the “Play Kenyan Music” debate to matter and to make a difference in one way or another and most importantly to take root and go down in history.
The Kisii Rap Kings’ founder and the Omoisi Omobe if Kisii rap music had to share his two cents on the matter by taking to social media to express his views on the matter.

Smallz Lethal called out Joe Muchiri for refusing to play his music four years ago because the said radio station was solely playing rock music and he feels it’s rather hypocritical to see him[Joe Muchiri] speaking about the playing of Kenyan music on television throwing his weight on advocating of local stations supporting and playing Kenyan content almost everywhere.
Smallz Lethal also revealed on Instagram, that he was banned from entering the Lornho house for the same matter.
He wrote in part on Instagram: “Yaliyopita ni ndwele hapa! They said it’s a rock oriented station and there’s nothing we could do. Words by #JoeMuchiri. Well,to see the same ninja on t.v 4 years after, drumming support for KE MUSIC is hypocritical or something happened in between the four years that I don’t know..I wouldn’t know coz they BANNED me and my music from entering Lornho house for that matter.”
Smallz Lethal who is known for always being real and hitting the nail on the head with his lyrics didn’t stop there, he went on to throw jabs at Miss Mandy for declining to play his album because, “she wanted ‘meal vouchers’ or a tee u might think I am a visiting boyfriend”.

He added on Instagram: “#MissMandy even declined to have my album coz she wanted ‘meal vouchers’ or a tee u might think I am a visiting boyfriend. Well, @capitalfmkenya y’all can go to hell because radio didn’t make me who i am today.”
Smallz Lethal went on to give his two cents on the matter after calling out Miss Mandy and Joe Muchiri for not supporting him on his career even though he has been in the music industry for as long as anyone can remember.
He wrote: “My two cents, Most presenters/radio producers wamekuwa maCELEB sana kuliko wasanii. They have zero time to RESEARCH for new stuff by KE artists. If your [expletive] radio station is a rock oriented station then get rock artists from kenya, If its rhumba oriented then get Freshley mwamburi and them new age artists like Bosco Baya on that effin station. What’s the point of interviewing @khaligraph_Jones for an hour at @capitalfmkenya but you’re playing and sampling Damien Marley and NAS Album for 50 mins (This actually happened and I was mad as hell). We only get like 10 or so minutes where they tell u to ‘freestyle’.”

Smallz went on remind those people who might have forgotten how he has been mentoring over 300 artistes for year at his show dubbed ‘Hip Hop Hook Up show’ at the Sarakasi Dome in Ngara only to hear 10 to 15 artistes on radio and/or on the TV as he takes a subliminal jab at Butita for calling out artistes who allegedly cry out for rotation.
He added on his post: “I know of my friends(artists) who pay to get rotation.. This is purely because some presenters are too lazy to work. I personally hosted over 300 artists at SARAKASI DOME, Ngara at the Hiphop Hook Up show but only see and hear 10 to 15 acts on radio and TV. Then Butita or whoever that is goes to live TV asking where this ‘crying’ artistes are. Get your silly head to work. Research and support fresh music from KE Artists.”
As his parting shot, Smallz Lethal believes Kenya need a regulatory body that will make work easier for the “lazy presenters” as he calls out the media for pushing the same names for every shows, events and/or on rotation on both radio and TV but make sure that every artiste is catered for and given a fair share.

He concluded his post on social media: “We should have a music regulatory board to make work easier for this lazy presenters. We will get the music to you..Fresh artists and great music. If 100 new songs get rotation not only in Kenya but say Africa then we will have made a remarkable move as a country. Stop making the industry a 10 – man show by having the same names on all events, same names on rotation on TV and radio. How are fans going to support people they don’t know???? Look at Roma and Stamina’s fiesta show and compare it with Nyash’s live gig in eldoret or Khaligraph’s show on Rick Ross’s concert ..UTALIA.”
