Kamene Goro is back on the radio three months after she was fired from Kiss FM. She has gone back to NRG Radio where she began her radio career.

Kamene, through her Instagram page announced that she will be hosting drive show every Friday between 3pm and 7 pm together with Shaffie Weru and DJ Pierra Makena.

“Good Morning My Loves!!!!!!! @shaffieweru @pierramakenaofficial do you think they are ready for this one?” Kamene wrote.

Shaffie and Kamene will succeed Mwalimu Rachel, who hosted the show alongside DJ Xclusive.

Kamene started her radio career at NRG Radio when it was launched. She was paired with Andrew Kibe to host the morning drive when the station went on air for the first time on March 1, 2018.

The duo worked together until June 2019 when they jointly quit NRG Radio after being poached by Kiss FM.

Kibe quit on June 30, 2020 and Kamene was paired by Jalang’o who replaced Kibe. Jalas quit Kiss FM in February 2022 to join politics and he was replaced with Obinna.

Kamene quit Kiss FM on January 27, 2023 and she was replace by Kwambox. Obinna too quit Kiss FM on  April 17, 2023 after his one year contract expired.

On his part,  Shaffie Weru left Radio Africa in March 27, 2021 alongside Homeboyz breakfast show co-hosts Neville and DJ Joe Mfalme.

Shaffie Weru’s 17-year radio career came to an abrupt end when he was unceremoniously fired from Homeboyz radio where he was earning a fat salary of Ksh682,5000 a month.

Shaffie alongside his co-hosts Neville Musya and Dj Joe Mfalme were accused of shaming a victim of sexual violence whose boyfriend threw her off the 12th floor of a building because she refused to spend the night at his place.

The three presenters issued public apologies, but some Kenyans weren’t convinced that they were sincere.

Shaffie Weru fought back after being fired, he threatened to sue his former employer Radio Africa Group for wrongful termination.
