Ringtone has revealed that Bahati is depressed after losing the Mathare parliamentary seat in the just concluded August 9, 2022, General Election.

Bahati stopped posting on social media after the shock defeat in Mathare parliamentary election.

The last post on his social media account was on August 11, 2022, when he was complaining about being rigged out.

The singer performed dismally in the Mathare constituency race where he finished a distant third.

ODM’s Anthony Oluoch won the race after garnering 28,098 votes, UDA’s Bilian Ojiwa came second after securing 16,912 votes while Bahati finished a distant third with 8,166 votes.

Bahati went underground after Mathare voters ‘broke’ his heart by electing his fierce rival Anthony Oluoch.

Bahati invested heavily in campaigning for the Mathare constituency seat. Speaking in an interview with Tanzanian blogger Millard Ayo just days before the election, he disclosed that he had spent Ksh33 million since beginning his campaign for Mathare Member of Parliament (MP) seat and was prepared to spend Ksh10 million on the election date August 9.

“So far I have spent like Ksh 33 million. I am planning to spend Ksh 10 million on election day,” Bahati said.

On Wednesday September 28, 2022, without any explanation, Bahati deleted all posts on his Instagram account.

Speaking during an interview with YouTuber Mungai Eve, Ringtone said Bahati was depressed after losing the Mathare Parliamentary seat.

Ringtone claimed that the last time he had a phone call with Bahati’s wife Diana Marua she told him that her husband needed prayers since he has been going through a lot after he lost the MP seat.

Ringtone also challenged other Kenyan musicians also to visit Bahati and talk to him.
