Rayvanny was forced to cancel the much-hyped concert in Kisumu at the last minute.
The Bongo singer was slated to perform in Kisumu on Friday, December 2, 2022, but unfortunately, the show was canceled abruptly.
Rayvanny, through a post on social media, lamented that the Kisumu promoter had disappointed him and thus he was unable to perform in the lakeside city.
He went ahead to apologize to his fans in Kisumu for the late cancellation with a promise to make it up to them next time.
“To all my lovely fans in #Kisumu due to promoters and Event organizers’ issues am so sorry to say that I won’t be able to perform in #Kisumu today I was ready for you but there is always next time love you all ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥,” Rayvanny wrote.
Tickets to the show were going at Ksh1,000 for early bird regulars and Ksh2,500 for early bad VIPs. The prices went up by Ksh1,000 if one was to purchase the tickets at the gate.
The organizers behind the failed show issued a statement shortly afterward saying that they were taking full responsibility for the cancellation.
“Lion Empire Entertainment wishes to regrettably postpone the event to a later date. Our main artiste could not travel to Kenya, due to non-compliance with a travel agent Lion Empire had contracted. Lion Empire takes full responsibility for this action and will seek legal actions to determine the way forward,” a statement issued by the event organizer reads in part.
Even after the event organizers issued the statement, Eric Omondi still came out to take credit for the cancellation of Rayvanny’s show in Kisumu.
“Told you guys if you try doing an international event without contacting me it will not materialize… Hayaaat,” Eric Omondi wrote.
