Rayvanny becomes the first African to perform at MTV EMA

WCB signed artiste and Next Level Music founder and CEO Rayvanny hasn’t just made Tanzania proud but the entire Africa continent proud.

Raymond Shaban Mwakyusa professionally known as Rayvanny has become the first African artiste to perform at the recently concluded 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards that was held on November 14th 2021 in Budapest, Hungary.

Rayvanny who is the only Tanzanian to have won the BET Awards and the second East African artiste to achieve such a feat performed alongside Maluma who won in the category of ‘Best Latin’ beating Bad Bunny, J. Balvin, Rauw Alejandro, Rosalia, and Shakira in the same category to scoop the award.

Maluma performed his latest collaboration song ‘Mama Tetema’ together with Rayvanny amid screams of acknowledgment and excitement from the fans and revelers who came to see a show like no other than will never be forgotten.

The song is only a few days old and it’s currently trending on different countries with over 3.3 million views on YouTube during the publishing of this article.

Prior to him performing at the MTV EMA, there’s no African artiste, established or otherwise who has performed in the grand MTV EMA stage so this is huge for not only Rayvanny but the entire Africa continent by setting the precedence and making history.

The Tanzanian government took notice of this achievement by Rayvanny and commended him for the great work he’s been doing in the music industry and his recent achievement that has brought honor and glory to his country.

“So honored to be the first African artist to perform at MTV EMA❤️🌍🚀 Big thanks to my brother Maluma and the whole team,” Rayvanny wrote on social media in part.

“It feels so good when your government support your craft!! Thanks a lot, Ministry of Culture, arts and sports,” Rayvanny shared online.
