I am so excited, today is the day that rapper Femi One releases the much awaited single ‘Wanjiku Kimani’ and I honestly can’t wait to share the juicy details with you.

As you might all know, female rapper Femi One started out the art of raping way back when she was just a teenager aged 15 years at WAPI (Words and Pictures) through the mentorship of Zakah the Chosen formerly Zakah of the rap duo Wenyeji and it through one of these events that Kaka Empire founder and C.E.O King Kaka discovered her and signed her immediately under his empire but not before featuring her on his ‘Ligi Soo Remix’ hit track. The rest as they say is history.

Rapper Femi One is very well known for her witty metaphors, wordplay, rap flow and hard hitting punch lines in her music. Whenever she jumps on a beat and you get to hear it, just know you are listening to greatness because that’s what aura she brings through her music, however ‘Wanjiku Kimani’ shows us a side that we didn’t know existed. It is an emotional song that talks about her life and lets others in to her world.

“This song  came about at a time I was trying to find myself and identify my sound. I needed  time to reinvent myself and now I am back,” says Femi One.

The song showcases her growth both musically and emotionally. The Femi one we saw starting out at Ligi Soo Remix is different from the one we see in Wanjiku Kimani.

“I have grown up and my music has grown with me,” says Femi One.

The song was produced by Jack on the Beat and the video directed by Johnson Kyalo (Empire Films). Watch the new song by Femi One ‘Wanjiku Kimani’ here below and witness greatness

I love everybody who loves everybody, somebody got to love somebody at some point.
Music is something that comes natural to everybody and it's a language that everybody can understand, I understand it and that's why I speak it
fluently, do you.
