The MusicBank imprint yesterday during Kenya’s Independence day released a 12 track EP by RAJ that is titled B.A.E.(Beautiful And Exquisite). The EP Launch that was dubbed BAE Concert happened last Saturday at Uhuru Gardens (a historic memorial park) to celebrate the new EP.
The EP, Beautiful And Exquisite , was formed off the back of an extremely difficult time for RAJ, the loss of a close friend, and his on and off relationship with his then girlfriend. Emotionally drained and feeling somewhat lost, RAJ, dealt with his pain by channeling it into a sonically stripped down EP.
The ‘Obe Baba’ hitmaker becomes the first Kenyan artist to complete an 18 week music series release dubbed BAE Tuesday, a weekly music giveaway that saw him release exclusive music every Tuesday since August till December, a node only identified with American Grammy Award winner, producer and artist Kanye West.
About a fortnight ago, RAJ graduated from the University of Nairobi with an Economics degree, a node that few Kenyan artists can brag about.
The 23-year-old rapper and producer will proceed to hold a tour dubbed the BAE concert tour in selected cities and towns in the country and focusing on releasing music videos from the EP
