Raila Odinga is on a charm offensive tour of Western Kenya to quell rebellion and cement his support in the region.
The Cord leader yesterday visited Ababu Namwamba’s home turf of Budalang’I where he met his supporters and warned them of Jubilee’s tricks.
Raila said Jubilee government was pretending to bring development in the region for the purpose of getting votes only.
The Cord leader said Jubilee promises were empty and ill intended stating that President Uhuru Kenyatta used to deny him funds to build roads in Western Kenya while he was the finance minister in Kibaki’s coalition government with him.
He faulted Uhuru saying he was promising Western people roads now yet he was the one obstructing funds meant to construct roads in Western.
“What Jubilee is trying to do right now is to hunt for your votes by pretending to bring projects to Western. When I wanted to construct some of these roads here, for instance, the then finance Minister Uhuru Kenyatta denied me funds yet he is the one promising to make the roads now. It’s all deception.” Raila told his followers.
