Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has received backlash on social media for voicing insensitive remarks on Kapenguria attack.

Kenyans on Twitter used the hashtag #WetangulaBeatenAgain to retaliate his remarks on Kenyan security forces.

The tweet posted on his page seems to insinuate that rescue forces were incapable of handling the siege at Kapenguria police station by saying Rescue forces have rushed to the scene with Rungus’.

Kenyans clearly didn’t take this lightly and were set on sending a message to him.

This is the post which has caused the backlash

Lone remandee takes policeman’s gun, shoots 7 policemen dead with several hostages in Kapenguria. Rescue force has rushed there with rungus.

The hashtag was derived from a reported incident, a photo of Wetangula’s swollen face which made rounds on social media months ago indicating that he had been beaten by his wife.
