Peloton removes Diddy’s music after viral video of him beating up his ex-girlfriend Cassie

Peloton, the fitness company, announced its decision to remove all music by Sean “Diddy” Combs from its classes after a disturbing 2016 video of the rapper assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Cassie, surfaced.

In a statement shared on social media, Peloton addressed the issue directly:

“We take this issue very seriously and can confirm Peloton has paused the use of Sean Combs’ music, as well as removed the Bad Boy Entertainment Artist Series, on our platform. This means our instructors are no longer using his music in any newly produced classes. Again, thank you for sharing your concerns and thank you for being a member of our Peloton community.”

Peloton’s action was prompted by a post from a concerned member, which read, “Dear Peloton, Your next purge needs to be all Diddy classes. Signed, women everywhere.”

This decision follows Diddy’s public apology for the incident captured in the video. The rap mogul admitted to assaulting Cassie in a video statement, expressing deep remorse: “I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now.” He posted this apology on Instagram and Facebook, acknowledging his behavior as “inexcusable.”

The video, released by CNN, shows Combs in a white towel, violently attacking Cassie in a hotel hallway. The footage includes scenes of Combs punching and kicking Cassie, shoving and dragging her, and throwing a vase at her.

Cassie, whose legal name is Cassandra Ventura, had previously sued Combs in November, alleging years of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse. Although the lawsuit was settled the next day without an admission of liability, it led to significant scrutiny of Combs. Subsequent civil lawsuits and a federal criminal sex-trafficking investigation followed, resulting in raids on Combs’s properties in Los Angeles and Miami.

Despite the serious allegations and ongoing investigations, Combs denied the accusations, labeling the legal actions as a “witch-hunt based on meritless accusations made in civil lawsuits.” He maintained that he cooperated fully with authorities and emphasized that there was no finding of criminal or civil liability against him.
