Olympian Mercy Obiero’s daughter follows her footsteps

According to Wikipedia, Mercy Apondi Obiero who was born on August 27, 1978 in Nairobi is a Kenyan weightlifter who was the first Kenyan woman weightlifter at the Olympics and the second from Africa after Uganda’s Irene Ajiambo.

Obiero made her international debut at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester and now is nurturing her daughter, Natasha Okoth who is also a body builder to represent Kenya in the next year’s 2018 Commonwealth games and Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
